Master's programme in Information Systems Management will help you develop a better planning, management and technical skills that are necessary for leading any organization in today's complex, digital world.

The programme focuses on the design, implementation, usage, and evolution of information systems. You acquire in-depth knowledge about information systems design and architecture including requirements engineering, service oriented architectures, and agile systems development. You get a strong understanding of the role of IT in supporting and transforming organizations and networks, including value network design, enterprise systems, business process management, business intelligence, decision support, and knowledge management.

The programme offers much flexibility, as most of the courses will be given not only as campus courses but also as online courses. DSV offers you the opportunity for a blended learning experience. This means that you will be able to study both on campus and/or from the comfort of your home. The online courses are designed in ways that maintain the same level of interaction between teachers and students.

Career
Graduates will find positions as IT architects or enterprise architects, project managers, database administrators, systems analysts, and application developers. They may pursue careers in a variety of organisations, including large and mid-size corporations, public sector agencies, and non-govermental organisations. Graduates may also enter Ph.D. programmes for a research career.


Contents

The Master's Programme in Information Management Systems is comprised of business and technology courses. Our programme curriculum is designed to propel you along a more successful career path in information systems management. This outline is created by a world-class faculty. The Master's programme "Information Systems Management" start in autumn 2011 with the following course syllabus:

1st year
1st Term – Autumn You will start during the Autumn with the following compulsory courses
• Enterprise Computing and ERP Systems
• Requirements Engineering
• Scientific Writing & Research Methodology
• Data warehousing

2nd Term - Spring There is only one compulsory course in the second term, and that is Philosophy of Science. In addition to this course, you are entitled to choose one from a preliminary set of courses of your choice such as

* Systems theory and IT
* Decision and risk analysis
* Strategic management of IT
* Business process design and intelligence
* Mobile business

2nd year
1st Term – Autumn In this term, you can choose two of the following courses

* Web mining
* Organizations, IT-systems and management
* Decision and risk analysis - special topics
* System integration

2nd Term - Spring In this term, you will do your thesis work

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or a degree equal to 180 credits, with a minimum of 90 credits within computer and systems sciences (e.g., computer science, systems science, informatics, information systems etc.). English B (Swedish upper secondary school course) or equivalent, or one of the following tests: IELTS: 6.5 (with no section below 5.5). TOEFL (paper based): 575 (with minimum score 4,5 in the written test). TOEFL (internet based): 90 (with minimum score 20 in the written test), University of Cambridge and Oxford: Certificate in Advanced English or Diploma of English Studies.
