The programme covers a broad range of managerial topics and gradually deepens the students' knowledge of these. Particular emphasis is placed on topics of great relevance for technical university graduates, such as operations and supply chain management. Another key feature of the programme is its integrative teaching approach aimed at developing the ability of students to tackle managerial issues in an interdisciplinary manner. The fourth semester is entirely devoted to industry-related project work in close collaboration with European companies, forming the basis for a master thesis to be submitted towards the end of the semester.
The duration of the programme is four semesters (two years). Students will spend a semester at each of the three participating universities, thus having the opportunity to leave a fully enriched multicultural experience and to get accustomed to different working environments.

Who Should Consider the IMIM program

* Graduates with a bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution (minimum 3 years full time study) in a scientific or technical discipline who wish to broaden their educational background to pursue a managerial career in an international business environment.

* Mature graduates with a few years relevant work experience, fulfilling the above academic requirements, who wish to enhance their portfolio of professional skills matching those required for managerial positions in an international industrial environment.

Contents

Students will spend each of the first three semesters at one of the participating institutions: starting in Madrid and subsequently continuing with the second semester in Como-Milan and the third in Stockholm. The fourth and final semester comprises, industry-related master thesis in virtually any country in Europe. A broad foundation, comprising introductions to organizational behaviour, financial and managerial accounting, corporate finance and the function of capital markets, marketing, strategy and economics, will be provided during the first semester.
Building on this, the second semester further develops students' proficiency in operations management, quality management and supply chain management approaches and techniques. Thus gradually strengthening the link between general managerial work and the challenges emerging in modern manufacturing and service operations.
The third semester then comprises courses aimed at deepening some of the topics introduced during the first semester as well as developing a more integrated view of how these relate to one another. This includes advanced courses in management accounting and marketing and application of previously taught topics in two integrative, thematic courses on project management and entrepreneurship. An introductory methodology course will also be given in preparation for the final semester thesis project.

The last semester is dedicated to the Master Thesis, a broad project that the IMIM consortium organises in collaboration with universities, industrial companies and other organisations.

All teaching activities are in English. A significant amount of these take an interactive approach, through extensive use of group-based work, case studies and seminars, to stimulate dialogue between and learning from the diverse experiences of students and teachers.
