This programme offers students a thorough knowledge and understanding of crime and the criminal justice process. It is designed for graduates in law and social sciences, and should also be of interest to those working within the criminal justice system and other graduates interested in crime, criminality and the criminal justice process.
Options exist for students to defer the programme at intermediate stages with a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma. The programme is intended to appeal to professionals currently employed within the criminal justice system who aspire to have a more critical, theoretical and comparative understanding of policy, management and decision making within criminal justice agencies, the criminal justice system (from police to judiciary), the impact of increased offender numbers on working principles, and coping with change in the probation service, police service, prison service and Crown Prosecution Service. The programme is also of interest to magistrates and those involved in victim support.

Assessment
Students are assessed through coursework and a dissertation.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
