The complexity of modern international transactions requires lawyers with knowledge across national legal systems with an enormous array of analytical, conceptual, professional and writing skills.
Our programme introduces students to core topics in international business law and develops their understanding of policy and doctrine through a combination of exams and group and individual assignments. The Master of International Business Law (MIBL) degree enables law graduates to further their legal education by gaining a systematic understanding of the critical issues at the forefront of select areas of international business law. The programme is intensive and fast paced bringing the students on a high growth learning experience across the 12 months of the programme.
The program will be delivered through lectures, presentations and seminars during each semester. The first semester is delivered in Lyon starting in the first few weeks of September and the second semestertakes place either in Maynooth or in Lyon according to the track chosen.
There are a significant number of written assignments and oral advocacy workshops. Lecturers use Moodle to monitor progress of students and offer feedback periodically.
The students are also offered visits in prestigious international organizations in Lyon and Geneva (Interpol, WIPO...).
Students have the choice between two alternative tracks :
French language courses are offered at the University's Institute of French Language and Culture.

Internships
An especially attractive feature of the program is that at the end of the second semester, internships are available in legal departments of corporations or in law firms in the Lyon region or abroad.
The internships provide students with hands-on legal experience and can lead to genuine career opportunities.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
More informationApplicants are required to have an undergraduate degree in law (a French licence, an LL.B. or equivalent).
Acceptance of applicants with other types of diplomas will be determined by an admissions committee which may also take into account relevant professional experience.
The programme requires that applicants possess a good level of English language proficiency. Therefore we only accept applicants with a minimum IELTS Score of 6.5 or a minimum TOEFL IBT score of 90. Nevertheless, we might consider any experience establishing the command of the English Language.
