* Integrating analysis from various disciplines including economics, international business and management, finance and behavioural finance, the MSc International Financial Markets develops your skills for specific application to management and financial market decisions.

You may be a student with little work experience but a background in business, economics or accounting, or you may be a mature student with working experience in international business or finance but wanting a focused postgraduate degree.

Because the specialist subject is multidisciplinary, the course integrates analysis from various disciplines including economics, international business and management, finance and behavioural finance. These skills involve introducing you to the relevant mathematical and modelling skills you need, introducing you to the relevant theory in economics, psychology and finance, expanding your knowledge of financial instruments and developing your understanding of the critical issues such as regulation, pricing and crisis in these markets.
You will be strategically aware of factors affecting agents operating in international financial markets and will understand different theoretical perspectives for the critical appraisal of the role, operation and impact of financial markets internationally. You will develop the relevant research skills for analysing the operation and impact of financial markets activity and will have built the study and practice skills relevant for career in the financial sector. All are developed in an international context, taking in to account international policies, culture and regulatory diversity in international financial markets.
This course will not train you to be an accountant or an economist but it will help you to understand how financial assets are priced in markets, why and how they traded, and to understand why we experience bubbles and crashes in these markets. These are essentials skills for operating in the financial sector.

At the Postgraduate Certificatestage you will study alongside our many other postgraduate students in management and related programmes. You will study key aspects of international financial market economics, such as interest rate and exchange rate models, asset pricing models and derivatives. We will develop your business skills generally but also specifically with knowledge and skills relating to investment and financial regulation.
The Postgraduate Diplomastage has an international focus. International Economics develops your micro and macro economic theory applied in finance and also international trade generally. Strategy, Competition and Sustainability develops your understanding of how financial organisations function in the global business world. Financial Market Analysis is specifically designed to help you develop mathematical skills in modelling financial asset prices and markets. The Methodology and Research Skills module builds your skills for the Independent Study focused on financial markets.
At the Mastersstage you will study the most recent theoretical developments in financial markets derived from psychology and economics. You will look at how and why people are biased in the financial decisions they make and how this affects bubbles and crashes. You will also be undertaking your own piece of international financial research for Independent Study, with individual help from an academic tutor.
