BTEC Level 2 & 3 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration qualifications are designed to allow learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of working in a business and administration environment.

These provide learners with an introduction to the Business and Administration environment, and will give them the opportunity to develop essential knowledge such as covering personal responsibilities, working with and supervising others, managing information and producing documents and providing and maintaining administrative services.

These programme also covering more specialist areas such as innovation and change, budgeting, project management, or working in public services, which will allow them to tailor the qualification to their own needs.

The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Principles of Business and Administration have been developed to give learners the opportunity to:

  • develop essential knowledge and understanding for work in the business and administration sector
  • engage in learning that is relevant to them and which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life, such as communication and team working skills
  • achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 or 3 vocationally-related qualification
  • progress to employment in a business and administration environment
  • progress to related general and/or vocational qualifications.

How will I be assessed?

All units may be assessed through an online multiple-choice test or a portfolio of evidence.

How many hours per week do I have to attend College for?

This is a full time course. Successful completion of this course will require a combination of self study and tutor directed study. Normally you will spend 15-18 hours of tutor directed study every week on the programme, Key Skills and additional studies. You will be expected to do some further work at home which could be assignment work or on assignments.

What can I do when I complete the course?

The Level 2 and 3 BTEC Certificates in Principles of Business and Administration give learners the opportunity to specialise in particular areas of administration, such as event management, contributing to change and innovation, or working in public services.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

The minimum age for registration for this programme is 18.

  • Four GCSEs at grade D or above, including English Language and Math OR
  • a Full Level 1 vocational qualification at Merit or Distinction Grade, plus GCSE-equivalent L1 Functional English and Maths qualifications
  • A reference is required, either from a current personal tutor/course leader or from recent work
  • Satisfactory interview with course tutor
