The two-year Research Master's programme in Art Studies lets you dig deeper into the part of the (art)world where your interests lie. It is an intensive scientific programme.
Within this programme you can specialise in Art Studies, Cultural Studies, Theatre Studies, Musicology, Art History, or follow one of the tracks: Artistic Research or Dutch Golden Age Studies. The multitude of theatres, galleries, museums, concert venues put Amsterdam at the heart of art and culture in the Netherlands. The two-year Research Master's programme in Art Studies lets you dig deeper into the part of the (art)world where your interest lie. It is an intensive scientific programme which gives you the freedom to follow your own line of study.

More informationGrade average: A/3.8 (American system), 2.1 HONS (an upper second class degree in the British system), B (ECTS-system), or 7.5 (Dutch system).
Previous education: A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Cultural studies, History of the book, Theatre studies, Art history, Musicology, or another relevant field. The level of the Bachelor's degree must be comparable to that of a Dutch Bachelor's degree.
Written request: Students can apply from 1 December until 1 April by filling out the digital application form and uploading the necessary documents via the website of the Graduate School for Humanities.
