The main task of a research student is independent research of the chosen topic, working closely with a director of studies who guides and advises throughout the period of research; at the end of the period of study, the results of the research are embodied in a thesis, which is examined at a viva voce examination when a candidate is required to defend his or her thesis; supervision is available in research areas including: governance, accountability and regulation; criminal justice; international and comparative justice; criminal investigation and detection; risk security and community safety; and equity, fairness and human rights.
The course can be studied full-time over two years or part-time over four years.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testA good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject or a master's degree in an appropriate subject. Exceptionally, equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications will be considered.
English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 7.0 or equivalent.
