The Master’s in European Studies is an integrated programme that encompasses the strengths of all the professoriate of the Institute of Political Science and Governance in pursuing topics related to European politics and government.

Who is the target group of European Studies programme?The European studies programme is designed for those who are interested to learn more about the politics and governance of EU’s states, but also to get in-depth knowledge into the functioning of EU’s institutions. The student should have a good command of English as the programme is in English.

Why choose Tallinn University’s European Studies program?

The goal of the curriculum is to deepen the student’s understanding of comparative European politics. Several electives are offered to widen the student’s specialized knowledge of institutional order, public policy, state governance, comparative politics and their wider roles within the realm of international relations.
- The Institute of Political Science and Governance is highly esteemed in the field of political science and governance, boasting 5 professors and 22 teaching staff members.
- Study methods make use of wide range of learning tactics, i.e. e-learning technology.

Graduation from the European Studies programme opens doors to various career paths. Senior and specialist positions within government bodies of the EU and other international organizations are attainable for the graduates of the European Studies Master’s programme. A further path in academia becomes possible following completion of a master’s degree, allowing further realization of the intricacies within political systems.

In addition to the completed application form (pdf) submit:

* Secondary school certificate;
* Internationally recognised bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in social sciences or any other bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) with work experience in the public sector;
* Transcript of academic records - e.g. subject list, notes, teachers etc.;
* Copy of the identification page of your passport;
* 2 photos 4 x 5 cm;
* Receipt from payment of the processing fee (40 EUR);
* A detailed curriculum vitae.
* Motivation letter explaining on a maximum of 2 pages: * your interest in the European studies programme,
* Your professional plans,
* your previous experience in European or European Union
* related professional and academic activities;





Interview:

When all the documents have been submitted applicants will have an interview with the staff of the curriculum. The objective of the interview is to meet in person with all the applicants and discuss their motivation letter. Interviews can be done via Skype or other Internet telephony (NB! requisite web-camera).
