Whether the goal is building business insights with an international perspective or enhancing language skills and understanding the increasingly multinational business culture, IBS Master in International Management program is a strategic move for success in today’s global economy. IBS Moscow offers its MIM program through a partnership with the International Business School Alliance (IBSA). Students with an undergraduate degree in business or economics can receive a dual master’s degree in one year (three semesters) while studying in two partner countries of their choice.
The program is delivered in English.
Program aims
The program aims to equip graduates for leadership in businesses where global issues have significant implications for the decision-making process. Graduates will be equipped for positions in which awareness of economic and cultural diversity is seen as important as professional, managerial and entrepreneurial skills. The MIM graduate will be able to recognize how domestic businesses are affected by global trends and events and will fit into positions where moving and quickly adapting to new environments is essential, thus meeting the needs of the businesses that are developing globally and which operate within a diverse range of social, cultural, economic and political circumstances.
Competences
The course aims to develop graduates who have the distinctive competences required to operate as managers in a global context, including analytical, communication and managerial competences. It is equally important, that our graduates should have the cultural sensitivities that will enable them to operate in different countries and in multi-cultural and multi-national environments. It is intrinsic to the philosophy of the course that such sensitivities can only be fully acquired and developed through the experience of living and working in cultural settings other than the student’s country of origin, hence the insistence on this course, that half of the study should be in an overseas partner institution. To this end, all modules will include consideration of cross-cultural issues, which are explored from the viewpoints of different ethical perspectives.
The program offers a set of core modules in semester one, followed by a semester two specialization consisting of 3-6 modules and a final research project. Semester one provides students with core modules worth 30 ECTS, setting the context of the broader field of global business and management. Semester two provides the specialization modules, also worth 30 ECTS, plus the final research project worth a further 30 ECTS credits. The final project is related to the chosen specialist business function.
