Presentation

This research schedule of this master's degree provides students with the necessary skills to find effective solutions to any problem in the field of electronic engineering, to lead a research department and produce a doctoral thesis. It also aims to make students capable of working in conjunction with international research teams.

The professional schedule, on the other hand, provides advanced training in the design of electronic equipment as well as planning and designing automatic production systems. It also prepares students for commercial services in companies from the electronics sector, maintenance and control in production industries or technical consultancy. The subjects on which the master's degree is based are industrial instrumentation, control engineering, digital electronic systems and industrial electronic systems.

Career opportunities

Research track: doctorate. Professional track: design, analysis, planning and maintenance of complex electronic and microelectronic systems and equipment for automating industrial processes, among others.

Phases 2 and 3 are only opened if there are free places on the master’s degree! If you want to ensure that you have a place, we recommend that you pre-register in the first phase!

Requirements

  • University degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Automation Engineering and Industrial Electronics, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Technical Aeronautical Engineering qualifications specializing in Aeromotors, Aeronavigation, Aircraft, Airports Aerospace Equipment and Materials; Technical Telecommunications Engineering qualifications in Electronic Systems, Telecommunication Systems, Image and Sound, and Telematics; Technical Engineering qualifications in Computer Software, Computer Systems, Industrial Electronics, Electricity, Mechanics and Industrial Chemistry; and Naval Radioelectronics; or related areas.
  • Selection criteria:
  1. Average grade of the academic transcript of the first-cycle studies required.
  2. Should applicants present qualifications other than that which is a requirement for the master’s degree, the average grade of the transcript will be added (maximum 1.5 points):
    • For each university diploma or equivalent: 0.25 points
    • For each pre-Bologna degree, Engineering qualification or qualification in architecture: 0.50 points
    • For each doctoral degree: 0.75 points
  3. Any documented professional experience will be added to the score obtained, although a first-cycle academic qualification in a related subject area is a pre-requisite. For each full year of professional experience 0.05- 0.30 points will be given.

Funding details

The Rovira i Virgili University offers grants aimed at new international students who want to study a university master’s degree. The grants consist of the tuition fee (all taxes included) and a study bursary.
