This program is offered at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science. The duration is two years, and the programme culminates in the degree of M.Sc. in International Fisheries Management.
Objective
The main aim of the programmme at the NCFS is to provide an interdisciplinary education. This is a program which combines primarily economics and biology, with additional courses in technology, principles of organisation, and law. The program is teaching-intensive, with courses (comprising 90 study points) and a research project (30 study points), with more emphasis on course work than on the individual research project.
At the completion of the Master`s Programme in International Fisheries Management, candidates achieve the degree "Master of Science in International Fisheries Management".

The Master`s Degree in International Fisheries Management qualifies to a lot of interesting jobs in both private enterprise and public service, international and national. Today, candidates who have finished their study, work in fisheries management abroad and also in their home countries, in private consultant companies as well as in research and teaching.

Register Now!In order to be admitted in the Master's Degree Programme in International Fisheries Management, it is required that applicants hold a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Social Science (or equivalent to a Norwegian Bachelor's degree). It is desirable that applicants have knowledge of mathematics and statistics corresponding to the university's introductory courses in these subjects.
All lectures are given in English. A good working knowledge of English is therefore essential. An English proficiency test (TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent) should be enclosed in order to fulfil the entrance requirements. The minimum score required in the TOEFL test is 500, and a minimum score of 5 is required in the IELTS test. The entry is competitive and based on educational background and professional experience, as well as stated purpose.
