The CBU Master’s Degree Programme in Forestry and Environmental Engineering (FEE) is based on bilateral and international collaboration in the fields of forest sciences and environmental engineering aiming to promote the ecologically and socially sustainable use of natural resources.

Advanced scientific research guarantees high-level teaching in FEE. The goal of this programme is to develop your cross-cultural understanding and knowledge of varying working environments. The programme gives you competence to work as an expert in the field – both in Finland and in Russia.

The five partner universities of the CBU in Forestry and Environmental Engineering are:

* University of Joensuu (co-ordinator)
* Lappeenranta University of Technology
* University of Helsinki
* Petrozavodsk State University
* St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University.

The FEE programme brings together partner universities’ expertise to such areas as ecology and forestry, bioenergy production, forest resource management and planning, forest economic and policy, wood technology and forest product marketing as well as environmental economics and legislation

Accreditation

Finnish Universities are accredited by the law. Universities are responsible for the quality and continuous development of their education and other operations. Legislation also requires them to regularly perform external evaluations of their operations and quality systems and to publish the results of such evaluations. Finnish HEIs decide on their own quality systems, and the comprehensiveness, functioning and effectiveness of the systems are evaluated in the audits, which are valid for six years.
