The MA programme allows the students to choose a practical path and a theoretical path; both options include translation practice and professional accreditation.
The MA modules engage with theoretical questions as well as with the most current translation practice. Specialised Translation modules will train students to learn how to use one of the most popular translation tool among employers, SDL Trados Translation Software, in relation to the chosen language(s) of study. Formally trained by Trados certified trainers, MA Students will receive the Trados Certification, which is an accreditation recognized by employers. In collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL), the MA is expected to offer accreditation of one component of the Diploma in Translation (DipTrans) offered by the CIoL. The DipTrans is officially recognized as the professional standard qualification in UK.
