A Master of Science in Finance from the University of Southern Denmark has a
broad knowledge and understanding of thekey financial problems of corporations and households and a deep insight into riskand portfolio management; the pricing of
stocks, bonds, and derivative securities; the valuation of companies; and the strategic capital budgeting and financing decisions of corporations. The graduates are familiar with both microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts and theories related to finance aswell as econometric techniques applicable tofinancial data.

The Masters of Science in Finance are analytically very strong and are able to formulateand solve advanced models for a numberof important financial problems with anunderstanding of the practical applicability ofthe models. The graduates from the programare prepared to understand and apply currentand future research in finance, which is a key quality in the financial industry where research is rapidly transformed to innovation of procedures and products. As such the program is the ideal background for an exciting career in the financial industry.

The finance courses are taught mainly by young faculty members dedicated to offering a high-quality research-based finance program. Courses consist of lectures for typically 20-30 students with occasional problem solving in class. In several courses students have to hand in reports based on work in groups on assignments. The courses are quite challenging and require competences in mathematics and statistics beyond a highschool level.

Typical employment for an MSc in Finance graduate:

- analyst in the financial industry, specializing in fixed income analysis, stock market analysis, macroeconomic analysis, or corporate finance activities
- portfolio manager in pension funds, investment funds, or banks
- risk manager in the financial industry or large corporations
- financial consultant
- position at authority supervising and/or regulating financial markets
- research and teaching.

Requirements

A complete undergraduate degree in Business Administration (approx. 3 years
of study at university level which is roughly equivalent to a Danish Bachelor´s degree).

The main field of the undergraduate degree must include subjects within the areas of 1) Economics, 2) Business Economics and 3) tool subjects (e.g. Introductory Programming and Data Processing, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods and Business Law) where Business Law, Marketing, Financing, Macroeconomics, ManagerialAccounting, Organisation Theory, Sociology and Statistics are most important.

Please enclose course descriptions: Aim of the course, main topics, year´s workload/ECTS and literature as a minimum.

For Non-EU/EEA citizens the IELTS (or TOEFL) is necessary if your first degree
was taken outside the European Union, Scandinavia, Switzerland, USA, Australia, or
New Zealand. IELTS with a score of min. 6.5 or TOEFL with a score of min. 575 paper based, computer based min. 230, internet based 88.PLEASE NOTE: The University of Southern Denmark has access to the IELTS Verification Service; therefore we accept the IELTS test results/score in copy.

TOEFL is only accepted in original sent directly from the test centre or the educational testing service (ETS) before registration deadline. EU/EEA citizens are not required to document their English skills but are of course expected to meet the language level in English required at graduate level.
