The MSc Advanced Practice (Diagnostic Imaging) is a full or part-time degree programme designed for radiology and oncology personnel keen to increase their knowledge and extend their roles and responsibilities in the field of radiology and oncology services.
The programme will also appeal to medical doctors, nurses, physicists, radiographers (diagnostic and therapy) and radiologists. The programme structure is designed to be flexible to enable postgraduate students to achieve higher education credit whilst continuing their busy professional careers.

In order to achieve the named award of MSc Advanced Practice (Diagnostic Imaging) students undertake the following modules:
- One core module (Clinical Image Reporting).
- One Choice module (Either Critical Appraisal Skills for Practitioners OR Methods of Enquiry in Health & Social Care).
- One Option module (Either Advanced Practice in Diagnostic Imaging or one selected from a list of available modules).
- Dissertation (Topic relating to Diagnostic Imaging).
Methods of Teaching:
The named award in Diagnostic Imaging is delivered using a range of both academic-based study and the virtual learning environment (VLE). This enables students to access information and to communicate with tutors and their fellow students
A range of lectures, seminars and workshops are held at the University for the Clinical Image Reporting module (5 block days in Semester 1 and 4 block days in Semester 2).
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testApplicants are normally required to have a relevant first degree, however, applications are welcome from students with non-standard entry requirements, and previous experience may also be considered.
The School also has a robust system of APL/APEL and applications are welcome from students with non-standard entry requirements. Several mechanisms are available by which experienced personnel without a degree may be able to APL/APEL into the programme. We would encourage you to apply early if you think you may need to make use of these processes.
You must have a work based mentor for the Clinical Image Reporting module.
You will require access to a personal computer with good connection to the internet (broadband recommended).
English Language Requirement: IELTS of 6.0 (or equivalent), if your first language is not English.
