The MSc Advanced Practice (Practice Education) is designed for practioners who wish to develop their interest in education in practice settings.
This innovative and flexible programme is interdisciplinary in nature and will appeal to health care professionals who are engaged in the support of learning in the workplace or in health education. The two named award (Certificate) modules are approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and approval by AHP professional bodies is currently being sought.
Content areas include:
- Learning and teaching strategies for practice.
- Assessment and accountability.
- Leadership in the learning environment.
Key features of the pathway include:
- Blend of on-line delivery and work-based learning.
- Use of desk-top video conferencing which allows students to participate simultaneously with other students in online sessions.
- Highly experienced academic supporters from an appropriate discipline, who will provide individualised advice and guidance throughout the programme.
In order to achieve the named award of MSc Advanced Practice (Practice Education) students undertake the following modules:
- One Core module (Personal & Professional Development as a Practice Facilitator).
- One Core module (Learning, Teaching & Assessment in Practice).
- One Choice module (Either Critical Appraisal Skills for Practitioners OR Methods of Enquiry in Health & Social Care).
- One Option module (Selected from a list of available modules).
- Dissertation (Topic relating to Practice Education).
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

You will require access to a personal computer with good connection to the internet (broadband recommended).
