The overall purpose of this master's degree is to provide you with the professional training needed to become a teacher specialising in different areas and at different levels of secondaryeducation.
This master's degree must be completed by those wishing to work in different posts as secondaryeducation and vocational training teachers and replaces the courses offered until now to obtain the Teaching Aptitude Certificate (CAP).
For this reason the master's degree is structured taking into consideration the functions, needs and demands of professionals in our educational systems and within the context of today's society. The aim is to prepare future secondaryeducation teachers to be fully capable of transmitting the contents of their profession, to act professionally as a member of a teaching staff and to provide their students with the support and guidance needed in an integral learning process.
Skills acquired
Once you have finished this degree, you will capable of:
* Planning and directing classroom activities and class climates.
* Working as a tutor and offering personal, academic and professional guidance.
* Work in teams with the teaching staff and with other professionals.
* Being able to design, manage and assess the learning process of your students in your area of knowledge.
* Mastering verbal and non-verbal communicative skills needed when teaching and interpreting the different educational needs students may have.

Practicum
Students will carry out their practicum at centres selected by the Department of Education. Distribution of students is based on geographical proximity and specialisations. If you are currently teaching at a centre you will not be able to carry out your practicum at the same institution and will be assigned another education centre.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

The master's degree is addressed to people with an official university degree (four-year degree, engineering diploma or EHEA degree) wishing to receive training to become secondaryeducation teachers and with a solid background in the contents of the specialisation chosen, given that this master's degree is focused on specific professional training for future teachers.
Admission
* A four-year degree, engineering diploma or EHEA degree. If you hold a three-year degree, or technical engineering or architectural degree you may apply to the specialisations offered in Vocational Training.
You must have obtained your degree from a university belonging to the European Higher Education Area. Degrees from other universities must be validated in Spain.
* Certify your knowledge of a foreign language equivalent to the level B1 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).*
* Additional information on language certificates and equivalencies for university studies with specific language levels as an entry requirement:If you are a foreign student you must demonstrate knowledge in Catalan and Spanish (level B1) when enrolling, and acquire language proficiency (level B2) upon completion of the master's degree. Before enrolling you may be asked to take a language level exam in Catalan and/or Spanish.
In addition to the qualifications listed in CEFRL, to certify your language level you may present the following certificates:
* Language qualifications issued by foreign universities.
* Secondary school certificates from French, Italian, English or German schools.
* University degrees in language studies.
* Document certifying that at least 10% of your university studies were taught in a foreign language.
* IELTS or TOEFL.
* Language level certificates by centres specifying the equivalency with CEFRL standards.
Note
In these cases, qualifications are not deemed equivalent to any specific CEFRL level. What is taken into account is your language level and its adequacy to subjects taught in the master's degree in a foreign language.
