This Master'sdegree offers two tracks of study. The professional specialisation aims to offer solid, creative and up-to-date tools that will guide professionals linked to the scenic arts and other creative fields. The research specialisation aims to provide advanced skills in scenic arts and train new professionals to work in this field.
Skills acquired
* Evaluate different professional routes existing in the scenic arts sector.
* Designing and applying analysis and comprehension methods of different shows adapted to synchronic and diachronic approaches.
* Analysing scenic works from their aesthetic and historical aspects.
* Building an argumentative discourse to analyse critically a play or dramatic script.
* Using dramaturgical tools when writing, adapting or translating scenic works.
* Integrating your knowledge of specific factors belonging to the reception mechanisms of performancestudies.
Once you have finished the master, you will be able to:
* Work in multidisciplinary sectors.
* Put into practice the skills you have acquired in scenic creation.
* Adequately design and carry out a research project.
* Critically assess the virtues and drawbacks of a research or creation process.
* Transfer your knowledge to both scientific communities and the general public in creative environments.

Ideal student profile
* Four-year degrees in areas pertaining to the Humanities or Arts (Language Studies, Art History, Philosophy, Journalism, Educational Studies, Audiovisual Communication, etc.).
* Graduates in the specialisations offered by Barcelona's theatre school (Institut del Teatre).
* Qualifications equivalent to those from the Higher Music School (ESMUC) or Music Conservatory of Catalonia.
* Other professionals and graduates from similar fields.
Admission
* Four-year degrees in Language Studies, Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, Art History, Fine Arts, Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Translation and Interpreting, and Humanities.
* Official qualifications in Acting, Directing and Drama, Scenography and Choreography, Dance Techniques and Dance Teaching.
* If you hold a degree in another area, you will need the approval of the Admissions Committee before being admitted to the master'sdegree.
* You will also be accepted if you have obtained a degree in these studies from a university abroad.

* Personal interview, if required.
Research and professional experience in similar fields will be valued.
