Increasing your general training in chemistry or physics, with scientifically oriented training in theoreticalchemistry, thus enabling you to carry out serious research work in this field, understand and properly use the wide range of existing programmes and generate new programmes, and use these tools for the design of materials in a wide range of fields.

This master'sdegree allows you to continue with the Inter-University Doctorate and is, therefore, the academic gateway for those who wish to enrol in a doctoral programme in this field and its different branches.

Skills acquired

* Developing a responsible and critical spirit.
* Analysing potential energy surfaces.
* Applying skills and knowledge acquired to new and multidisciplinary contexts related to this field.
* Demonstrating the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments.
* Developing informational skills.
* Mastering the most common tools used in molecular modelling.
* Advanced comprehension and oral level of the languages used in the master'sdegree.
* Explaining the basics of statistical mechanics.
* Identifying and recognising the conceptual bases of quantum mechanics and quantum chemistry.
* Intepreting and correlating the structure of materials and their properties.
* Interpreting field programmes and using your skills to modify or improve them.
* Organising and planning activities related to your research field.
* Recognising and distinguishing specific quantum chemistry methods and limits that need to be taken into account when applying them.
* Relating molecular dynamics with their structural or reactive functions.
* Solving problems effectively.
* Working independently and with initiative.
* Working in teams.
* Correctly using mathematics tools pertaining to the field of theoreticalchemistry.
* Using your own judgement with theoreticalchemistry programmes.
* Knowing how to use the symmetry properties of matter.
* Knowing how to make use of ICT to further develop as a professional.
