Location of Grenoble Institute of Technology

This double-degree master, with a completely new approach, combines the best technical training in nuclear energy along with a training in innovation and energy management by the business school Grenoble Ecole de Management who holds the triple crown of business accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) that distinguish the world's leading business schools.

It consist of a two year training in english and includes a mobility within the academic partners members of the consortium KIC InnoEnergy (KTH Royal Institute of Technology ( Stockholm , Sweden), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya BarcelonaTech ( Barcelona , Spain), Grenoble Institute of Technology ( Grenoble , France), and several institutes in Paris ) as well as close collaboration with main actors of the nuclear industry in Europe. This leads to lectures by professionals, in house trainings and internships for the students, and results in a double Master's degree delivered by two of the well-known partners previously presented.


Contents

First year: at KTH Royal Institute of Technology ( Stockholm, Suede) or Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya BarcelonaTech ( Barcelona, Spain), in both cases followed by an Innovation module in Energy management and Entrepreneurship at Grenoble Ecole de Management.

Second year: at Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble, France) or Paris (either at University of Paris-Sud 11, ParisTech, Supélec, ECP or INSTN).

Students can choose between 5 Specializations:

  • Materials Science for Nuclear Engineering (Grenoble)
  • Nuclear Plant design (Paris)
  • Operation (Paris)
  • Nuclear Fuel Cycle (Paris)
  • Decommissioning and Waste Management (Paris)

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

KIC InnoEnergy wants to attract the best students that will be the innovative leaders of tomorrow.

To be eligible to the KIC InnoEnergy MSc EMINE you will need:

Good level in written and spoken English :

  • TOEFL paper-based test score of 550 with TWE of 5.0,
  • TOEFL computer-based test score of 213 with TWE of 5.0,
  • TOEFL internet based test score of 80

Academic requirement for applying to M1 courses: to have a bachelor degree in the related area.
Academic requirements for applying to M2 courses: to have a M1 degree or equivalent degree that provide a solid background in physics, or/ and chemistry , and/or mechanics, and/or materials science.
In addition to this, in order to ensure we admit students with the best motivation and potential, KIC InnoEnergy MSc EMINE requires to supply:

  • Prior grades
  • 2 teacher or internship supervisor references.

This allows us to build up a full, comprehensive and fair evaluation of all our applicants. Final admission will be decided upon an interview with the selected candidates in order to be sure that the most motivated candidates are retained.

Funding details

The EIT grants scholarships to the best students. For the year 2011 -2012 20 scholarships are available for the two years of the Master EMINE. Tuition fees will be deducted from the grant.

The decision on who will receive these scholarships, as well as regarding the admission to the MSc in Nuclear Engineering will be taken by the master steering committee, and representatives from the InnoEnergy consortium. This committee will meet once a month until september and answers the students applications regularly.
