The programme consists of taught components combining specialised taught material in current areas of Physics and related disciplines, general research techniques, transferable skills and specialised research techniques together with a major research project. The project starts in January carrying through to the end of the programme. Experts in the chosen field will act as project supervisors.
The programme is run by the Department of Physics in collaboration with the Randall Division of Cell & Molecular Biophysics at King's, and other University of London Colleges.
Topics include: the application of fluorescence techniques and nanoparticles in biophysics; nanoscale optical imaging of nanomaterials and biological cells; X-ray sources, detectors and optics for X-ray microscopy and lithography; first principles, calculations of materials properties, molecular dynamics simulations of bio- and nano-systems; astroparticle physics and cosmology.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

2:1 in a BSc Physics degree. Alternatively, a 2:1 in a degree subject related to Physics will be considered on a case by case basis.
