Students on the nursing and midwifery professional register will have the opportunity to complete the post graduate certificate in education (PGCE) and register their teacher qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). All students completing the PGCE will also be entitled to apply for associate or fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Students, particularly those from overseas who intend to pursue doctoral studies outside the United Kingdom, may wish to take the international Education for Healthcare Professionals programme which is run over two full years and complies with the Bologna process for second cycle studies. The second full time year may be spent predominantly in the student's home country. For international students arrangements will be made to facilitate teaching practice within the College.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testApplicants must be qualified healthcare practitioners. NMC registrants must have been registered for a minimum of two years for the practice teacher qualification and three years for the teacher qualification. A minimum of a BSc (Hons) 2:1 or equivalent is required.
