The programme is made up of eight modules, in each of which the teachers, all of them significant figures within the wide panorama of illustration, will teach the course, based on their own experience in the following sectors:

Module I – Press illustration.

Module II – Illustration of trends.

Module III – Illustration aimed at children/young people. Narrative and literature.

Module IV – Scientific illustration

Module V – New Media and formats.

Module VI - Advertising. Graphic campaigns.

Module VII - Packaging.

Module VIII – Labour market.


Contents

Postgraduate Degree in Illustration accredited by the Universidad de Vic.

Students without university degrees will receive a University Extension Studies Diploma.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

In this postgraduate degree the intention is to understand the role of the illustrator as a communicator of information, as an artist, historian or graphic witness, who records what has happened, through an in-depth analysis of the different fields, uses and applications, of illustration that the market requires. The technical and conceptual aspects of illustration will be covered, and useful tools will be provided to assist the creative process, thus enabling the students to discover their own individual artistic and design language.

COORDINATION

Berto Martinez. Illustrator specialising in Fashion and trends magazines, he is always looking for new formats and media for his illustrations. He frequently works with brands such as Custo BCN, Alfa Romeo, Nike, Clickair and Moet Chandon. In the magazine and newspaper field, he contributes to Playboy, GQ, Max Joseph, Cosmopolitan, El País and Elle, to name but a few. His work has appeared in several significant books about illustration.

Requirements

· Honours Graduates in Graphic Design

· Fine Arts graduates with a specialisation in Drawing,

Painting or Graphic Design

· Professionals working in the sector without a specific qualification, but who can demonstrate professional experience.
