A one-year full-time course for NHS healthcare professionals employed as IAPT High Intensity Workers leading to a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The Institute of Psychiatry is recognised as one of the leading centres for research and teaching in CBT. This course will provide training in the core theoretical and practical aspects of cognitive behaviour therapy. The course will provide teaching and supervision on fundamental skills and the specialist application of CBT to a range of psychological disorders. Course lecturers and workshop leaders will include many of the internationally known figures involved in developing and evaluating cutting edge cognitive behavioural treatments.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Take testSuccessful applicants generally possess a professional mental health qualification (e.g. clinical psychologist, RMN) or other relevant professions (e.g. counselling, social work) with relevant postgraduate clinical experience. We give preference to candidates who can demonstrate experience in systematic therapies and are committed to the CBT approach. Access to suitable CBT training cases, ie straightforward depression and anxiety, is compulsory.
