About the course
The MSc Business and Payroll Management is the ultimate qualification in the payroll profession. It signifies a deep, strategic understanding and application of payroll business management practice.
The programme is designed for graduates of the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (formerly the IPP Diploma in Payroll Management), or for anyone with relevant payroll experience. You can enhance your career by achieving this qualification and increase your general business acumen and strategic thinking ability, whilst at the same time achieving a significant personal goal.
You will study the MSc through distance learning and block delivery, which consists of group tutorials and weekend schools which are held at the University.
Distance learning allows you to remain working while studying. It also means that you can learn at your own pace from the comfort of your own home, while still feeling confident of adequate support.
Tutorials supplement the distance learning study packs and encourage you to get together with your fellow students to exchange ideas and experience. They also enable you to apply the understanding learnt through the study packs to practical payroll management problems. The workshops play a vital role in feedback and guidance, as well as providing an opportunity to have questions answered and areas of uncertainty clarified.
The Residential Schools take place early in each study year and help you to settle in to the course material. They commence on Friday mornings and finish on Saturday evening.
