The Marine Biology Master aims to promote multidisciplinary advanced training in Marine Biology, giving skills to the analysis and understanding of marine ecosystems, from genes to distint marine communities, their functioning and diversity, and applications to exploitation, conservation and biotechnology . The programme includes a strong laboratory and field work component in different marine ecosystem with specific attributes, and various biological productivities—from oligotrophic to eutrophic. There are several International Professors and Scientists involving in teaching which will help to develop their skills and improve their capability to work in an international context.
The University of Algarve host several internationally recognized master programmes in Marine Sciences, and has solid experience in international cooperation and exchange of researchers and scientific data. The Marine Biology Master combines complementary academic strengths, resources of other masters in marine sciences, thus allowing the integration of key areas of expertise in the context of Marine Sciences applied in an innovative curriculum. Moreover, scientific projects, in researcher centres linked to the University of Algarve, will offer opportunities to the students to developed their master thesis studying marine ecosystems ranging from estuarine, neritic, and open-ocean areas, subjected to different climatic (from tropical to polar) and anthropogenic pressures.

Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science, including Marine Biology, Biology, Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related courses. The final classification of the degree is one of the variables used to rank the candidates for the course.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION FOR 2 CYCLE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS:
1 - The application process should be send to the following address:

or delivered in person at the address above;
2 - The nomination must be accompanied by the following documents:
a) Application, which must indicate the course you are applying;
b) Identity document, eg. Passport (copy);
c) Photocopy of card VAT;
d) A copy of curriculum vitae;
e) Diploma degree course;
f) Copy of certificate of qualification (with information from subjects who did and their assessment);
g) Copies of the programs and structure of the subjects of the course obtained during the degree.
NOTE: Documents e), f) and g) are also intended the application for recognition of qualifications (degree obtained abroad)
Original documents) and f) must be authenticated in the Portuguese Embassy or Haya apostile
Copies g) must have the seal / stamp of the University where he obtained the degree.
3 - The nomination must be accompanied by payment of 50 Euros *:
a) By bank transfer - NIB should be sought through fctmestrados@ualg.pte should be given a copy of transfer as proof of payment.
* The application fee (50 Euros) will be returned if the course does not work.
