Learning Outcomes Students will be able to:
* Understand the fundamentals of ecological principles, processes and non-linear dynamics of ecosystems;
* Secure an in-depth understanding of environment-society inter-relationships through case studies of services eg. food, coastal protection, carbon capture, water supplies and recreation;
* Appreciate the roles that ecosystems functions provide critical services for sustaining humanity;
* Secure the capacity to envision and conceptually model plausible scenarios of environmental management to sustain ecosystems;
* Formulate a research problem and independently carry out the research needed to produce an appropriate solution in a range of scientific or policy contexts;
* Enhanced interdisciplinary skills in specialist topics related to ecosystems including different habitat and cultural contexts with the capacity to construct non-monetary and monetary economic valuation to ecosystem components and services.
How You Will Be Taught Teaching is through a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, assignments, field trips, and a group or individual dissertation project.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in a relevant subject such as botany, zoology, ecology, biology, geography, anthropology, environmental studies or other relevant subject.
Work experience in environmental and ecological areas will be considered for those looking to expand their academic previous training.
Applicants holding a UK 2:2 honours degree, or its international equivalent, may also be considered.
Students whose first language is not English must provide evidence of proficiency in English.
