Having successfully completed the SQH programme which bring with it the award of Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management, participants can now progress onto an optional dissertation phase with the award of MEd.
The programme is based on the Standard for Headship in Scotland and is a blend of taught days, tutorials, seminars and work based learning and development: this final element is crucial to success in the programme.
An important feature of the programme is the partnership model, where City of Edinburgh, Fife, East Lothian, Midlothian and Scottish Borders are equal partners in programme support and delivery. The local authorities select the programme participants and pay the fees from money allocated by the Scottish Government for professional development.
