The aim is to offer a CIPD accredited programme which provides students with various opportunities to develop their career prospects in the Human Resource Management/Employee Relations area.
This will be achieved through developing critical analysis of current thinking and linking this with leading practices in managing Employee Relations (ER) from a number of perspectives including: multiple stakeholder; international; ethical; cultural; legal; operational and strategic; as well as academic and practical perspectives.
Programme Key Features:
- An excellent support network awaits you from induction through to graduation.
- The programme is accredited from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has been designed in conjunction with the newly published CIPD standards and framework.
- Builds on and complements your first degree with the development of academic knowledge and practical skills to align you to a career in human resource management as an Employee Relations specialist.
- This programme exposes you to a depth of Human Resource Management and Employee Relations knowledge which proves an excellent strategic and practical background. This establishes a core set of transferable skills which will provide a base from which personal development and self realisation can enhance your career opportunities.
- A flexible choice of entry date; commence your studies in January or September with the opportunity to complete your studies in one academic year.
In addition, key skills such as presentation and negotiating skills will be enhanced; alongside the practical and research/consultancy-based skills gained from the research project.
This meets the needs of professional bodies (such as the CIPD and CMI) as well as CBS and GCU educational goals in employability; internationalisation, etc. and as such will enhance the employability of each successful student.
This programme supports a diverse array of potential career pathways. Graduates may choose to follow a pathway that leads to working within a specialist ER area or it could equally lead to a career in line management or a consultancy role where the management of effective employee relations is key to organisational effectiveness.
