In addition to the core management development, students will study the key contemporary theories and activities in HRM, learning through examples of various HR practices in different organisations and countries in culturally attuned ways.
This programme is aimed primarily at managers who work with, or are responsible for, an organisation's employees. This will encompass both HR specialists and Line Managers.
In addition to the overall aim, the key objectives will be to:
- Develop critical analysis of current thinking and leading practices in human resource management (HRM) in work environments and spaces that often extend beyond national boundaries and involve different cultural groups;
- Provide students with a theoretical and applied grounding in contemporary HRM models and activities to develop line management skills in the management of human resources;
- To promote a deep, independent level of learning and high level of professionalism in interacting with and managing an organisation's human resources.
Core modules from the MBA suite will include Management and Strategy, Financial Management, Marketing and Strategic Brand Management. Key areas for study in the HRM theme are Change and Leadership, HR Strategy Formulation and Evaluation, Resourcing and Talent Management and HR Principles and Practices. The Dissertation, which is the culmination of the MBA process, offers an opportunity for independent research.
