The international events environment has witnessed both phenomenal growth and significant change in recent years.
These dynamic changes call for focused and innovative professionals who understand how to develop, market and manage within the local, national and international events arena. The MSc International Events Management is grounded in the live practice of international events.
Driven by international case studies, including the World Cup, Mardi Gras, Formula One and Glastonbury, this programme is designed to develop and enhance the knowledge, critical capabilities and strategic skills essential to the field of international events.
Practice is embedded throughout the curriculum to allow students to gain an understanding and appreciate the complex workings of this industry.
The programme is delivered full-time over one year on campus at GCU's centrally-located campus, or is available part-time over two years delivered via the innovative blended mode of learning which combines distance learning with attendance at four intensive teaching weekends per year.

Core Modules: Events Policy; Experiencing Events; Media, Communication and PR; Personal and Professional Development; E-Branding; Globalisation, Culture and Lifestyle; Event Bidding; Professional Practice Project; Postgraduate Creative and Cultural Project.
Placements: Full-time students will be encouraged to undertake work experience throughout the duration of their studies, supported by the teaching staff. A work-based learning project is incorporated in the Professional Practice Project module, where students will either undertake a live project in the workplace, or reflect upon previous experiences of working within the dynamic events industry.
Assessment: The programme is assessed via various forms of coursework including essays, reports, presentations and case studies.

Register Now!Applicants are likely to hold a degree equivalent to UK Bachelor's degree (e.g. business management, events, sport, tourism, hospitality). Applicants from other backgrounds will be considered. Similarly, candidates with significant professional experience in the events sector, but a less academic background, will be considered. Any such applicants are encouraged to contact the Programme Leader for clarification if they are in any doubt as to their eligibility to apply.
