Diploma students undertake seven core, BPS-accredited modules from the existing BSc (Hons) Psychology programme and an empirical research project. The core modules cover the breadth of the British Psychological Society's curriculum, including: cognitive psychology, biological psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, individual differences, conceptual and historial issues and research methods. The Diploma aims to provide graduates from other disciplines with a stimulating and challenging education in Psychology that will enable them to move forward to accredited postgraduate study in their chosen area of Psychology.
Full-time: One year.
Part-time: Two years.
Trimester 1: Advanced Research Methods, Conceptual and Historical Issues, Personality and Individual Differences, Developmental Psychology.
Trimester 2: Biopsychology and Neuroscience, Human Cognition, Social Psychology.
The Empirical Project spans Trimesters 2 and 3.
Assessment: Coursework and examination.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testA degree not accredited by the BPS and a minimum of 20 credits in psychology at Certificate level (SCQF 7) or above.
