Contents
Training in research methods in four areas of specialization (two mandatory electives):
* Political Theory
* Public Administration and Public Policy
* International Relations
* Comparative Politics and European Integration
Work practicals
Research project in the third semester.
Semester abroad
A semester abroad is not obligatory but recommended for the third semester.
Requirements
(1) A first Bachelor or comparable (or higher) degree from a university with a regular value of 180 ECTS points is required. Preferential in a policy-scientific or closely related fields
(2) German language abilities which fulfil the generally valid conditions of the University of Bremen concerning the German language ability, according to the „Regularity about the verification of German linguistic proficiency at the University of Bremen“ from the 15th August, 2007 of the in each case valid version.
(3) With the application English language abilities according to the level B 2 after the European Framework for Languages have to be proved. This duty is cancelled for the applicants/ female applicants who have acquired their university access authorisation or her last graduation degree in English language.
(4) Other conditions are the proof of sufficient knowledge in methods of the empiric social research or statistics in the circumference of at least 6 Credit Points (CP) or 4 SWS by presentation of suitable transcripts.
(5) A letter of motivation writing of max. 2 pages which founds the special interest in the department of politics „Politikwissenschaft “ and should contain information to the following points:
* Presentation of the political-scientific study experiences and if necessary research experiences;
* Grounds of interests in the department profile of the master study Political Sciences (Politikwissenschaft);
* Grounds of interests in the profile of the research sphere of the master study Political Science (Politikwisseschaft);
* Representation of own study interests in the master study Political Sciences (Politikwissenschaft);
* Presentation of the aimed professional orientation
