Global media and cultural industries are important sources of employment and economic growth internationally. They are also important carriers of meaning about the world. This course focuses on the growth of these global industries and the roles that states play in governing them. The products of media and cultural industries are increasingly produced, governed, and consumed transnationally. The degree draws on the enduring strength of transnational and comparative research and research in the political economy of communication in the department of Social Sciences.

Take testGood upper second class honours degree in the social sciences or humanities, but applicants with appropriate professional expertise will also be considered. The degree is designed to appeal to students from a variety of cultural and academic backgrounds.
