Location of University of Birmingham

The International Management and Organisation (IMO) Group teaches and conducts research in international business, human resource management and organisational studies. The group is actively developing an international focus and undertakes joint research with partners in Brazil and Hong Kong. It is also expanding its portfolio of doctoral research.

Current interests include:
* Management in emerging economics style
* Corporate social responsibility in Africa
* Spirituality in the workplace

The Centre for Industrial Business and Organisation Research (CIBOR), established in February 2003, is closely associated with the IMO Group.

* Management in emerging economies (currently focusing on Brazil and China); contrasting capitalisms (governance and market systems); corporate social responsibility in Africa; the internationalisation of firms; international business alliances and acquisitions; international transfer of practices
* Human resource management
* The changing nature and future of work; international HRM; training and development policies and practices; industrial relations policies; corporate 'universities'; spirituality in the workplace
* Organisation studies
* New organisational forms; organisational co-evolution and transformation; corporate structure and governance; and international business organisation
