Location of University of Birmingham

This programme, on offer since the 1960s, has developed to reflect our wide interests. It encompasses accounting in its international, public and private contexts, corporate financial management, private sector investment and foreign exchange markets.

The programme aims to give you a deep knowledge of the theoretical and empirical literature that provides the background to understanding changes and innovations in accounting and finance. You also acquire a range of skills that can be used to solve real-world problems.

You take six modules, including compulsory ones on Financial Accounting Theory and Policy and Theory of Financial Management. You can also choose from a wide range of options and must submit a dissertation on a topic of your choice.
