The MSc in Economic Competitiveness and International Business explores the impact that global businesses have on localities, societies and economic policies, looking at how these factors impact on business.
This programme offers a different perspective from other international business degrees in that it positions the world of business in its economic (and associated social and political) environment. It considers issues such as globalisation, competitiveness and innovation, the effectiveness of the EU and other organisations, and the impact of security and conflict on international business.
The programme combines business and economics studies, together with issues related to political economy and policy. Its core themes include economic competitiveness; international business economics; globalisation; economic development and growth; and the role of the government and policy.
If you have an interest in starting a career related to research, consultancy, or policy- making with NGOs, think-tanks, public or private national or international organisations, this programme will provide a strong foundation. Students may have the opportunity to attend personal development courses to gain transferable skills to improve their employability.
