This programme explores the impact that global businesses have on localities, societies and economic policies, looking at how these factors impact on business. If you are interested in the public policy dimensions of economic competitiveness and international business, then this programme provides a specific focus on key public policy issues that impact on international business in local and global contexts.

Closely related to the MSc Economic Competitiveness and International Business|, this programme explores the impact that global businesses have on localities, societies and economic policies, looking at how these factors impact on business.
If you are particularly interested in the public policy dimensions of economic competitiveness and international business, then this programme provides a specific focus on key public policy issues that impact on international business in local and global contexts.

The programme focuses on the roles, impacts and requirements of enterprises and localities, with a specific focus on the effect that policy has on the workings of business and markets. It includes analysis of inter-related issues such as:

* Public policies used to promote competitiveness in a global economy
* Public policy and governance at the regional, national and EU levels
* Trade, productivity, innovation and the performance of economies
* Security, conflict and international business
* Different types of local production systems, including clusters
* Labour relations in international business

If you have an interest in starting a career related to research, consultancy, or policy- making with NGOs, think-tanks, public or private national or international organisations, this programme will provide a strong foundation. Students may have the opportunity to attend personal development courses to gain transferable skills to improve their employability.
