Graduates of this programme will demonstrate an expertise in and engagement with the scholarship of teaching and learning and be recognised as valued contributors to the debate on teaching and learning practice in a higher education context
Aims
The broad aim of the suite of programmes is to enable participants to design, deliver and evaluate high quality programmes of study and conduct research within a higher educational context. These programmes are made up of a variety of independent five credit modules grouped along thematic lines such as curriculum development; effective teaching; good assessment practices and teaching with technology. Participants will be asked not just to further develop their own professional practice but to contribute to the development of practices in the enterprise and scholarship of educational research in general. Graduates are encouraged to become not only teaching and learning champions within their own specific discipline area but to become champions of innovations and research into teaching and learning practices across all discipline areas.

Assessment: A single assessment artifact associated with a module. During the semester, learners submit a draft of the assignment. These drafts are subjected to a formative peer feedback and self-assessment process where both the feedback and the assessment are related to rubrics and exemplars used to help internalise the assessment criteria. This process is then iterated with the ultimate aim of self-regulation and improvement.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testThe minimum entry requirement to this suite of programmes is normally a Level 8 Bachelor (Honours) with the classification of at least a second-class honours grade 2, or equivalent. Applicants are required to have sufficient hours of teaching to satisfy the assessment requirements of the programme. Where there is competition for admission, a selection process based on a written submission and/or interview will take place.
Where an applicant fails to meet the admission criteria above, the Institute may, on a case-by-case basis, consider applications based on relevant work experience, skills gained through experiential learning and other qualifications.
