The Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling (TCCM) Master is an initiative of 47 european institutions from 8 different European countries that aims to:
* Establish a European standard for research-oriented studies in TCCM.
* Prepare experts in the use and development of computational techniques in molecular sciences, to work with innovative pharmaceutical, petrochemical and new-materials industries.
* Prepare students for doctoral studies in Chemistry, Physics, Life or Material Sciences.
* Promote international mobility of research students.
* Offer to students from a wide range of countries (including non-European ones) a highly qualified title at the post-bachelor level.
European and non-European students can apply for ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIPS to follow these Master studies. The scholarship includes, per year, tuition fees and insurance, and a monthly payment amounting to 6000 EUR for European students and 16000 EUR for non-EU students, including the travel expenses. Please note that no more than two students from the same country and only one from each institution can be awarded an Erasmus scholarship.
Deadline for application for Erasmus Mundus scholarships: January 31
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The European Master on Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling is articulated in 120 ECTS credits and can be accessed by students having a Bachelor in Chemistry, in Physics or in Material Science or any other scientific studies.
FIRST YEAR (60 ECTS)
It will be followed at student´s home University and is divided in:
- 30 ECTS: Intensive course (January-February)on the basis of the Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling
- 30 ECTS: Levelling, language and optional courses
SECOND YEAR (60 ECTS)
The second year has a marked international character. It includes:
- 24 ECTS: Intensive course (September), organized in a different country every year. It will be delivered by the best specialists of the consortium and experts taken from third countries.
- 36 ECTS: Introductory research and Master Thesis. In one of the 47 European Institutions involved.
The defence of the Master Thesis at the home Institution will entitle the student to bear a Master degree in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling delivered by his/her home Institution jointly with the other members of the Consortium.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

The requirements to be accepted in the TCCM Master are:
· Bachelor in Chemistry, Physics or Material Science,* or any equivalent level if authorized by the legislation of the corresponding European Country. Other scientific bachelors can be accepted, provided the student takes complementary levelling courses, under the supervision of his/her local Tutor.
· Internationally recognized English proficiency certificate equivalent to a TOEFL score of at least 213/500, or an IELTS score of 6.
The same criteria apply to EU or non-EU students. For non-EU students or having a Bachelor different from those mentioned above, the possession of the following (or equivalent) subjects at the level of the Chemistry Eurobachelor needs to be certified:
Chemical Bonding, Atomic and Molecular Structure and Intermolecular Interactions, General Physics, Mathematics, General Physical Chemistry, Thermodynamics and Kinetics, Spectroscopy. Some deficiencies may be remedied through the levelling course. However, if there are deficiencies in more than two of the aforementioned areas, the applicant will not be accepted.
(*) Students in the last year of any of these Bachelor studies can apply. However, they will be definitely accepted only if they successfully finish their Bachelor studies before the 1st of September of 2012
