This is a three module course leading to the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Educational Practice: Mentoring New Teachers. The modules are:
* Mentoring New Teachers (single module)
* Mentoring New Teachers: Practice Based Enquiry (double module)

Mentoring new Teachers (single module)
Content includes:
* Examining key issues, methods and ideas in mentoring for initial training and newly qualified teachers
* Identifying the interpersonal skills / attributes required for successful mentoring
* Analysing professional development needs and strategies for progress
* Developing the use of observation and other tools for monitoring and evaluation
Mentoring New Teachers: Practice Based Enquiry (double module)
Content includes:
* Training in conducting a Practice Based Enquiry
* Individual and group work to support your investigation.

Teaching, learning and assessment
Mentoring new Teachers (single module)
Course schedule: Four half-day or twilight sessions and directed activities in school.
Assessment: A portfolio of work based on the school based activities.
Mentoring New Teachers: Practice Based Enquiry (double module)
Course schedule: Three twilight sessions (approx. 9 hours contact time)
Individual and small group tutorial support.
Assessment:
A report on the Practice Based Enquiry, (approximately 6000 words)
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

If English is not your main language then you will also need to show that your English is at a high enough level to succeed in your studies. You will need IELTS IELTS 6-7 (normally with 6.0 in Reading and Writing and a minimum of 5.5 in Listening and Speaking); TOEFL internet-based test 80-100 (with minimum scores in each section) or equivalent, depending on the course you have chosen to study.
