Location of Nottingham University Business School

This course can be completed one year full-time or two years part-time and is comprised of taught modules and a research project.

The programme requires you to take 60 credits of modules in crop biotechnology and 60 credits of business modules to gain a strong balance of subject-specific and business-related skills. You then undertake a 60-credit technology transfer project, where you apply your new business skills to a problem of commercialisation of a biotechnology opportunity.

In addition to the specific training and skills acquisition, the course is designed to develop transferable personal and professional skills necessary not only for completion of the course, but for future career development.

Requirements

Students will be selected from graduates holding at least an upper second class honours (or equivalent) degree in a relevant subject e.g. biology, biotechnology, crop science which provides sufficient background for the course. Relevant workplace experience may, in some circumstances, be accepted as qualification for entry.

English Language requirements

Students whose native language is not English must, as a minimum, fulfil one of the following conditions:

  • a British Council IELTS average final score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each element, achieved no more than 2 years prior to admission
  • a TOEFL paper-based test score of 573 with a minimum score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English or internet-based test score of 88 with no less than 19 in any element, achieved no more than 2 years prior to admission
  • successful completion of a full-time intensive English language and academic preparation course of appropriate length with the Centre for English Language Education
