Location of University of Exeter Business School

The MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management is a challenging programme that offers substantial professional rewards and requires 12 months dedicated full-time study to complete. Run by the Xfi Centre for Finance and Investment, it is ideal for anyone wishing to learn fundamental and advanced theory in investment analysis and gain exposure to an intensive computing training, covering Thomson Reuters Datastream and other financial databases and software systems. The programme gives you the unique chance to study for levels I and II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) qualification and at the same time obtain a full Masters degree from a University with a well-established reputation in finance.

All entrants to the programme receive a CFA approved calculator.

CFA® Track

The MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management with CFA® Track enables you to take Levels I and II of the the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) qualification - while also continuing to study Financial Analysis and Fund Management. We provide top level support in helping you to pass the CFA® level I and II professional examinations in December and June.

MSc Only Track

With the MSc Only Track, you are not required to register for the CFA® exams, or attend the workshops organised for those on the CFA® Track.


Contents

This programme is available for study 12 months full-time over three terms and is University-based throughout this time. The taught components of the programme are delivered in the first two terms, leaving the third term and most of the summer to research, write and submit your dissertation. The programme in its entirety, including the mandatory foundation course, runs from September to September. In 2011, the intensive mandatory foundation course will commence on Monday 12 September.

During the programme you will study modules (including the dissertation) totalling 180 credits. Please note that all options are available timetable permitting and may change.

Requirements

A good Honours degree (2:1 or above) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. Evidence of mathematical/quantitative ability is required.

English language requirements

  • TOEFL IBT overall score of 105, with no less than 22 in any section.
