This programme provides teaching and development in the theoretical and applied aspects of health services research. You learn to use a range of health research skills in order to both critically appraise existing research and apply scientifically rigorous methods to enhance the evidence base for health and healthcare interventions. The course is modular in design in that each module is delivered over a single week of teaching and is suitable for those with concurrent work commitments within the health service. The programme covers the whole range of health service research methods from clinical evaluation to health policy. It also has a distinctive applied element allowing key skills to be translated into actual research through a research dissertation.
