This advanced programme is aimed at all professionals involved in child protection including social workers, health professionals (especially doctors and health visitors), police officers and teachers. It combines distance learning with web-based discussion groups, online MP3/Podcast lectures and PowerPoint presentations.
Programme structure The core modules cover the following:

* Non-Optimal Decision-Making in Uncertain Conditions
* Research for the Dissertation
* Research Mindedness, Critical Thinking, Reflection and Analysis
* Supervision and Consultation in Child Protection Cases.
Assessment
Teaching is based on guided study using an online learning environment (Moodle), videoed ‘expert' lectures, online seminars, ‘serious games' and filmed role plays, as well as web-based monthly forum discussions. A range of assessment methods ensure that theory and research relate to contemporary professional practice.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testA second class honours degree, but in exceptional circumstances, evidence of ability to study at postgraduate level will be accepted. Students will usually be qualified professionals in child protection but exceptions can be made upon occasion.
