Our EMBA Program will, among other things, provide you with the latest updates on management instruments in finance, management, marketing, law and business strategic planning. The so-called soft skills, skills that form the unique leadership style and define leadership experience, will also be discussed. This EMBA Program is based on Henry Mintzberg’s concept maintaining that managers are best taught by practitioners rather than theoreticians. All our EMBA Program instructors are not only distinguished practitioners but many are also eminent leaders in their organizations.

The Executive MBA Program offered by INE PAN is participant-friendly: it lasts one academic year (two semesters) and has flexible part-time schedule. The main advantages and objectives of the Program include:

* learning about the latest analytical tools in management and leadership;
* enhancing one’s leadership, communicative and teamwork skills needed to make an impact in one’s organization;
* gaining critical competence, understanding, confidence and language finesse to influence strategy at all levels of one’s organization;
* deepening and broadening one’s knowledge base and getting familiar with latest research;
* enabling one to polish one’s intercultural communication skills through being in contact with colleagues from all around the world and through learning from international faculty;
* developing one’s potential of a leader;
* working full-time while studying for the EMBA degree, thus enabling one to immediately apply the knowledge one has gained;
* studying with colleagues who have acknowledged expertise and experience, which brings added value to the EMBA Program.

Studies at INE PAN will result in boosting your career, gaining extra recognition from your work colleagues, expanding and deepening your understanding of relevant business processes, making friends with other top managers, and, perhaps most importantly, making you aware of your unrealized talents and allowing them to alter your life for better.

The Executive MBA Program offered by INE PAN in cooperation with the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies is designed to meet expectations of candidates from Poland and from other countries in the world. Its structure is simple and effective:

- it lasts for one academic year or two semesters;

- one may commence one’s studies in either the fall semesters (October – January), or the spring semester (March – June);

- each semester is composed of two modules (duration of a module - five days), which means that program participants will have to come only twice during the semester to attend lectures, seminars, and workshops;

- participants stay in touch with their instructors throughout the semester by using their logins to our Intranet system (downloading course materials, doing homework and tests, etc.);

- the Program is completed by writing, under supervision of a chosen instructor, and defending an EMBA thesis (about 50 pages);

- upon graduation participants are awarded by the Polish Academy of Sciences a certificate of completion of the EMBA Program and an EMBAdiploma.

The following courses will be offered during the two semesters of studies within our EMBA Program:

§ Financial Reporting

§ Financial Analysis

§ Tax Law

§ Commercial Law

§ Capital Structure, Cost of Capital and Capital Raising

§ Strategic Controlling

§ Operational Controlling

§ Financial Risk Management Strategies

§ Advanced Methods of Project Management

§ International Marketing

§ Brand Management

§ Politics and Economics of Integration

§ Financial Engineering and Investment Banking

§ Investor Relations

§ Decision Making: Theory and Practice

§ Leaders and their Followers

§ International Trade and Geopolitics

§ International Organizations

§ Coaching

§ Goal Setting and Achievement

Field trips to such distinguished institutions as the National Bank of Poland and the Warsaw Stock Exchange are also part of the program.

INE PAN also runs a special cultural program for EMBA delegates. The participation in the cultural program is not obligatory. It is just great fun! The purpose of the cultural program is two-fold. The program introduces the delegates, especially international ones, to the history and cultural heritage of the Polish people. It also serves as a catalyst for helping delegates get to know each other.

In practice a typical module looks like that:

Wednesday:

AM: delegate arrivals

PM: classes, module welcome dinner

Thursday:

classes, Polish language lessons

Friday:

classes, meetings with Ambassadors, Directors of Chambers of Commerce, Polish businessmen, etc.

Saturday:

classes, cultural program (either city bus tour, museum visit, concert, etc.)

Sunday:

classes and departures

The cultural program will respond to the interests of EDBA delegates and will feature what most delegates find fascinating. What delegates will do within the cultural program during a given module will be announced at the module welcome dinner. It is also possible to split the group and organize two parallel cultural events so that everybody goes to what he finds most interesting.

Polish language lessons are not obligatory either, and similar to the cultural program are quite entertaining and instructive. The language tutor’s aim is not only to teach you some basic Polish, but also to open for you the world of Polish cinematography, literature, painting, etc. It is also a great occasion to have a coffee together (coffee, tea, and snacks are served during the classes).

Welcome dinners, cultural program events, and Polish language lessons are bonuses that INE PAN provides you with without charging extra money. We are convinced, however, that they are significant elements of our program and make the latter more rewarding and valuable.

Requirements

If you occupy one of the top management positions in your company or organization, speak English, and have a BA degree (not necessarily in economics), consider applying to our special Executive MBA Program – Leadership in a Changing World. Send us through email the following:

- application form (filled up and signed);

- copy of your BA diploma together with its transcript (if the diploma is issued in any other language than Polish, English or Russian, certified translation should be provided to any of the above languages);

- CV (Resume) written in English;

- copy of your passport or official ID (only the page(s) showing your name, picture and passport number).

Once we receive the above documents, we will contact you and inform you when the Admission Committee’s decision will be made.

There are two intakes per year. The next admissions deadline is February 13, 2012. All accepted program participants will commence their studies in March 2012 and graduate in January 2013.

English Language Requirements The language of instruction on the Executive MBA Program is English. English is also the language of trade negotiations, sales contacts, financial markets and many other business activities across the world. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to have a good command of English in order to actively participate in classes and seminars, discuss with their colleagues, and apply learned skills in their further careers. No proof of English proficiency is required, however. Once you begin your studies you will be able to use our library with a rich collection of books in English. Also, you will receive an electronic access to databases online. There is no doubt that your command of English would significantly improve before you graduated if it was not already perfect at the beginning.
