The Graduate School of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) offers a wide range of professionally orientated courses. You may opt for a general multidisciplinary approach or choose from a range of more specialised programmes with a more specific career orientation.

We arrange study visits to NATO and the EU in Brussels, and we have an extensive programme of visiting speakers involving British and overseas academics, diplomats and other professionals.

This programme is for students from all over the world who are interested in the problems, challenges and opportunities presented by globalisation, and for students wanting to gain an advanced knowledge of the theories and practice of international political economy, from a range of different disciplinary and empirical perspectives.

It addresses:

* The parameters of the politically possible in an era of heightened capital mobility
* The future of the welfare state and social democracy in the advanced capitalist economies
* The emergence and development of regional trading blocs
* The future of the nation state
