Location of University of Chester

This programme investigates the archaeology of death, burial and commemoration in both prehistoric and historic societies.

This is aunique, exciting, cross-period and geographically broad programme that will allow students to study, and gain advanced expertise in, the archaeological study of how past societies remembered and commemorated their histories and mythologies.

The course combines the cross-disciplinary study of memory, death and material culture with cutting-edge archaeological theory and method. Students will have the opportunity to investigate death, burial and commemoration in both prehistoric and historic societies from across the globe, as well as the archaeology of the human body and the 'past in the past'.

Assessment

Assessment is by means of written coursework comprising essays, reports, reviews and projects. Masters students will complete a Research Dissertation.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
