Final examination
The final examination of the 2nd cycle degree programme involves the production and presentation of a dissertation on a scientific subject with strong experimental significance.
In order to attend a second-level degree course in "Progettazione e gestione degli ecosistemi agro-territoriali, forestali e del paesaggio" (Planning and management of agricultural-land, forest and landscape ecosystems) profitably it is necessary to have acquired knowledge in relation to the following:
* basic scientific disciplines in the fields of applied technology and economics regarding the management of rural and forest environments;
* main environmental and pedoclimatic characteristics for the purpose of better exploiting agrosilvopastoral systems while protecting the landscape;
* fundamental principles governing reclamation and irrigation plans for rural environments and green areas and hydraulic and agroforestry projects;
* basic notions regarding forest and reforestation initiatives and agrosilvopastoral reorganization for the purpose of achieving optimal management of mountain areas, both from an economic and ecological point of view;
* fundamental principles enabling an evaluation of soil and water quality with the aim of conserving and protecting them so as to assure a sustainable use of resources;
* main soil characteristics, with the aim of ensuring rational use for purposes also not strictly related to agroforestry;
* basic notions regarding land planning and assessment of environmental impact;
* main provisions of environmental laws.
Admission to a second-level degree course is subject to the following requirements:
1. Completion of a degree in one of the following classes, or possession of another academic qualification earned abroad and recognised as suitable: Ministry of Education, University and Research decree no. 270: L-21 Land, Town, Landscape and Environmental Planning Sciences; L-32 Environment and Nature Sciences and Technologies.
As per Ministry Decree no. 509/99: L 7 Town-planning and planning sciences; L 20 Agri-food and forestry sciences and technologies; L 27 Environment and nature sciences and technologies.

If the Commission judges the graduate's level of knowledge and competencies to be satisfactory, the student will be admitted to a test to assess the adequacy of his or her personal academic preparation as per the following paragraphs.
A negative outcome of the test/interview will preclude admission to a second-level degree course.
Assessment of personal academic preparation
Admission to a second-level degree course is subject not only to the fulfilment of the pre-established curricular requirements but also to passing a test proving the adequacy of personal academic preparation, which will take place by means of an individual interview.
Students who were awarded a degree with a minimum final mark of 92/110 will automatically be considered to have sufficient academic preparation.
The test consists in an interview with a commission designated by the Consiglio di Corso di Laurea (Degree Course Board).
Students must sign up for the test by sending an e-mail to the faculty teaching office (presidenza.agraria@unibo.it) with the subject: "prova di verifica" and specifying name, surname, the course they wish to enrol in and the date of the interview in which they intend to participate. The e-mail must be sent at least two days before the date of the interview.
A negative outcome of the test/interview will preclude admission to a second-level degree course.
